"Letters to God"

Opening nationwide Apr 9, 2010


Houston Premiere

On Fri, Mar 5, 2010, Houston's First hosted the Houston premiere of "Letters to God" -- the latest film from the producers of "Fireproof" and "Facing The Giants." All proceeds from ticket sales were given to the Children's Cancer Hospital at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. With 1,877 tickets sold, the event raised $9,385 for the Children's Cancer Hospital and was the film's largest premiere event in the nation. The hospital plans on using the funds for their Palliative Care Program, providing services to patients and their families as they face end-of-life issues.

Before and after the film's screening, guests attended a Resource Expo in the Main Foyer and visited with representatives from various Houston's First ministries and M. D. Anderson departments. Each group at the Expo provided services and programs related to children, families, cancer, grief, wellness, and other themes found in the film.

"Letters to God" opens in theaters nationwide on Fri, Apr 9, 2010. As of Mar 4, the film is scheduled to open in the following theaters in the greater Houston area.
